As Melbourne continues to be in lockdown it will most likely not be possible for club members to go portable for Oceania DX, but that’s no reason not to pick up the microphone!
The club is proud that in 2020, we were awarded the Oceania DX Contest Club Award for being the local club from Australia with the greatest number of member stations participating in the Contest.
With EMDRC Member participation we could do it again in 2021.
The club callsign VK3ER will be activated.
Potentially Melbourne we may or may not be out of lockdown for the CQ WW later in the month, if not operate from your home QTH and enjoy the contest.

We encourage you to have a go and submit a log, even if you only make one or two QSOs, so we can verify these QSOs when calculating the final scores for all entrants. Summiting Log Files
For the club award, please send a note to vk3er@emdrc.com.au if you are participating in the contest so we can count you towards the club score. Please note you must make at least 50 valid contacts in either the Phone or CW section of the contest to count towards the club participation score.
RASA presentation at the September Monthly Meeting
Since its launch in March 2019, QRM Guru has developed into a practical resource for hams the world over. We visited EMDRC early in 2019 and whilst our focus is for VK hams, we’ve been very pleased with the response from many amateurs, clubs and associations from around the world. This evening we’ll go over QRM Guru and talk about how the resource has developed, what you can find and how to apply it in the real world. Feel free to visit the site, have a look around and come along to the presentation with questions and feedback. QRM Guru
We’ll also introduce our latest resource, Amateur Radio Tech Support (ARTS), a knowledge based web site aimed at supporting newcomers to the hobby. ARTS also provide an online ticketing system, enabling users to ask questions by raising a ticket. The ticketing system enables us to respond to requests and track threads to conclusion. It also enables us to continually improve the Knowledge Base documents.

All Club members and Guests are welcome. - Thursday Club Rooms, morning at 10:00 also on Zoom. Not during COVID Lockdowns.
- EMDRC Calling Frequencies – 7.120 SSB and 147.175 (REC). Members might keep a listening watch on these frequencies for Club members then QSY as agreed.
